IWISE Leadership Program

IWISE promotes the professional advancement of international women scientists from developing and transitional countries through (1) support of their research, (2) leadership training, and (3) technical assistance for projects to be conducted in their home countries. Special consideration will be given to applicants who indicate an interest in developing projects that will improve living conditions for women and their families in their countries.

Participants in the Leadership Program will work with a scientist or engineer at Iowa State University or the University of Iowa on research projects of mutual interest. They will also participate in a series of leadership seminars and workshops on topics such as grant writing, and will develop grant proposals to support their research when they return home.

For the 2000 Leadership Program participants will be in Iowa from June 12 - August 4.

Application deadline is December 31, 1999.
