The final will consist of several short-answer questions of an integrative nature that may draw on any of the block but will not focus solely on factual material from earlier blocks. Below are some exams from previous years to give an idea of the types of questions I usually ask.
I get very incensed when I see a bunch of BS coming in response to a question for which you donıt know the answer. Donıt try it.
I am putting up a general discussion thread as a place to put any final thoughts you have on the course, topics that werenıt covered, criticisms, suggestions, role of this course in your education, what you will likely remember from this course 10 years from now (if anything), recommendations for next year (if it will be offered in the same format).
My collaborators and I are continuing to do research on the learning process in virtual environments, and student responses in dialog are a valuable source of information on how to improve the learning process. We have analyzed past dialog comments and made summary statistics on topics, length of comments, a subjective evaluation of quality, degree of conformity to the elements of the KB process, etc. We never associate a particular comment with a particular person; that is, we never reveal who said what. If you would be willing to allow us to use your contributions to this yearıs dialog for such research purposes, please fill out a permissions form that will be available in class or at the final exam. We will appreciate very much is all of you will grant us access to this wealth of information on how students learn.
